How it works
From first sign-in to a finished trip in five steps.
-
Sign in and set up
Sign in with Apple, Google, or your email and a 6-digit code. Then tell Tabito your home country and home currency, and optionally your passport expiry date for reminders. It takes about half a minute.
Tip: your home currency is the default for new trips, and each trip can have its own currency.
-
Bring your trips, or plan a first one
Import trips you already have from the Excel template, plan a first trip step by step, or skip and start with an empty Home.
Tip: a trip with no dates is an idea. You can turn it into a plan later.
-
Add bookings and tickets
Add flights, stays and other bookings, and keep tickets and visas in the trip's documents. The ticket reader can read a PDF or photo on your phone and suggest a booking for you to confirm.
Tip: pin the documents you need for offline use before you fly.
-
Log spending as you go
Add each expense in the currency you paid with. Tabito converts totals at today's rates and shows your spend against your budget.
Tip: if no rate is available, type your own for that expense.
-
See your totals and your map
Look back at spend by category and by day, then watch your count of countries visited grow on the Countries and Atlas screens.
Tip: Export my data gives you Excel, CSV and PDF copies whenever you want them.
Using the Excel template
The template is one workbook with four sheets that you fill in, and Tabito checks everything before it saves anything.
Download Tabito-Trips-Template.xlsx
- Download and fill it in. The workbook starts with an Instructions sheet. Fill in the Trips, Expenses, Bookings and Itinerary sheets. Start with Trips; the other three sheets refer to a trip by its exact name. Delete the grey example row in each sheet first.
- Use the dropdowns. Country, currency, category, trip type, booking type, status, slot, wanted and paid with offer lists. Some columns also accept your own text, for example several countries separated by commas.
- Leave dates blank for an idea. A trip with both dates blank is imported as a trip idea.
- Import and preview. In Tabito open Settings, Import and export, then Import from Excel and pick the file. A preview lists what will be created and any row-by-row problems with suggestions. Nothing is saved until you confirm.
- Import again safely. Importing the same file twice never creates duplicates. You can also export your trips in the same layout, edit them, and import them again.
Limits: a file up to 5 MB, up to 5,000 rows per sheet and up to 50 trips per file. Expenses that have no exchange rate are left out and listed, so you can add the amount in the trip currency and import again.
The template in this download uses US dollars in its examples. Your home currency is used when you leave a currency blank.
